Well,Francois, you are correct. I am only the go-between here.
I sent your posting to the person who told me that Alejandro's problem was
a result of the APAR. She's revised her opinion, because the APAR only
applies to 7.1.4 FP03, and he is on FP02. Her suggestion for him is that
he look more closely the /usr/OV/prg_samples/webserver_examples/README
file, and if he still cannot quite see how to substitute traceroute for
ovobjprint in the example, that he also look at
http://www.nv-l.org/twiki/bin/view/Netview/EuI JCAction.xml
and with this, I will say no more on this topic. Sorry for the confusion.

I am not sure that's the same problem. IY70256 was opened because with fp3,
the output of a script called from a custom menu entry is not correctly
displayed in the web browser page.

Looks like there is an open APAR for this problem, IY70256.
I don't know the details, but apparently some new function added by one of
the developers broke it
The person who is working on the problem asked me to post that there will
be a test fix available for it soon.

Jane:
After trying a little with the menus I can not get any parameter passed to
the script.
In my case everytime I select the custom menu in the webconsole I get a
dialog box with and X and the number 0 or 503.
This problem clears out if I leave only one <Val> parameter in th
eJCActions.xml
If I add whichever paramenter (Val or Var) the web menu returns an error
This does not work
<Val>traceroute</Val>
<!-- Second val must be fully-qualified pathname of
executable -->
<Val>/bin/traceroute</Val>
<Val>-w</Val>
<Val>4</Val>
<Var>OVwSelection1</Var>
This works
<Val>traceroute</Val>
<!-- Second val must be fully-qualified pathname of
executable -->
<Val>/bin/traceroute</Val>

Have a look on the NetView TUG website - I put some Web Console sample
menus up there some time ago -
