Thread-topic: | Want to manage dhcp |
Hello: In reference to the post http://lists.skills-1st.co.uk/mharc/html/nv-l/2001-10/msg00318.html, we actually want to manage DHCP addressed boxes, specifically video equipment. I understand that we could put in the range of network addresses that are in the dhcp range, but everytime a node changed ip, it would show as down. Can Netview or something that connects to it manage by MAC so each time the ip changes on a device, it is consistent on the map? We are using a static dns in that ip 1.1.1.1 always maps to bob.ford.com, no matter what device bob.ford.com is naming at that time. Thanks in advance. Becki Kain |
