By SMS you mean a text message to a cell phone? If you have an e-mail address that you can send your message to, which will forward it to a cell phone, then you can use the sendmail command as Paul said. But if you don't then you'll need third-party software to do this. For example, see http://www.crosscom.com and their paging product, called Hiplink. They even cite NetView as an often-used platform. I have also heard that there is freeware on the web somewhere to do this as well. In any case, you would install it and then write a script to call that product out of automatic action or from a ruleset.
