Right click the device you are demandpolling and look at the object
properties. Does it say it is SNMP Supported?
If so, then can you snmpwalk it? Don't specify a community name, just
do "/usr/OV/bin/snmpwalk <hostname> system"
If that does not work, then your xnmsnmpconf has the wrong community name
or the agent on the box is no longer responding.

Dear list,
NV714, FP3, Solaris .
Last week I posted a question regarding demandpoll problem (discovery). It
was finally found that demoandpoll is not doing his job for all devices,
not only for the discovery. When I issue demandpoll (from both GUI and
command line), it only gives back the status of the interfaces and verify
node name. No more checking interface table, arp cache, admin/oper status
etc. as before. I did ovtopofix -A (brook after two hours) before that
happened. Later I did ovtopofix with all the options individually (not the
-A), it finished in half a hour.
But demandpoll is still not doing.
Could someone help? Thank you in advance.
Regards,
David
