From what I have heard from IBM sales, you better get your BIG check
book out. But you had better ask you sales directly. I wish it was
that simple.
Our Netview came packaged with all our Tivoli products.
The two Netcool products you need to duplicate the functionality of
Netview, are Omnibus (which runs the DB and does the trap management)
and Precision IP which does the L2 and L3 discovery and all the other
good stuff.
We are not sure what to do either.
Netview is a great product but we really would like a better L2
discovery tool then the L2 Correlation product, which is very expensive
because of its pricing model. ($ per host processors and $ per switch
port).
I believe the Netcool product has similar pricing.
If IBM would only make us a deal we couldn't refuse.

Does any one if the migration to Netcool cost more money or just our
regular maintenance cost?

Cat,
Do you know if migrating to the new NV Software will cost us anything
other than the regular maintenance we pay yearly? ....working on budget
