Back it out and try again. That's the only advice I can give you.

It says it started nvsecd, but the message
nvs_isClientAuthorized(): permission denied for "ovw_fields".
Lost connection to the security server.Retry your function or contact your
administrator. authorized=0, status=6.

indicates that nvsecd did not respond when the ovw_fields command asked for authorization.

If this happens again, verify that nvsecd is still there, though I'm not certain what to do about it if he is not. You'll probably have to contact support for some personal assistance.

Are you migrating from a system which had NetView security active? Did the root user have any restrictions?
If so, you might want to edit your backup directory and force security to be off for the upgrade. You can always re-enable it after migration.
Edit /usr/OV.back.v7r1/security/conf/sec.conf and set SECURITY_LEVEL_FLAG=OFF

[NV-L] V7.1.5 Upgrade Issue

Hello,

I attempted an upgrade to 7.1.5 from 7.1.4 SP4 and it did not complete
properly.  The installation configuration.log is below.  Platform is SLES9
SP1 on z/Linux and upgrade was run as root user, so I'm not sure what
permission I was denied.

Thanks
