I installed on a clean machine. I had too much older rubbish on it, so I rebuilt
from scratch. The OV export option in version 4 provides the upgrade path for
Netview. I'll be using that for the 'live' upgrade. When starting the Transcend
install, it detects the wrong version of Netview and allows you to change the
variable. As to the operating system, I'm staying on 4.2.1 for a while, before
jumping directly to 4.3.2, but I need to purchase a new machine for that, so it
may be a while before I can comment on that part.

Hi Steve,

Oh, you mean I can just trick Transcend to think that I'm using a lower version
of
Netview? Have you tried this before? Can I upgrade Netview with the
dependencies &
then manually change the version of Netview Transcend is expected to see
(perhaps in
one of the config files)?

I've also used Netview 5.1 on AIX 4.2.1 with only occassional problem. Any
problem
installing Netview 5.1 on AIX 4.3.1?

Thanks for your tip!

cheers,
Jeanie
