Default gateways are per system, not per interface. If you change it in smitty,
then it changes it for the system, not the interface alone.

Alain:
I do have deferent adapters pointing to different subnets. When I use smitty
to config the adapters default gateway, it changes the default gateway for all
adapters to the same gateway address. If anyone knows of a way to avoid this,
please let me know.

What if the adapters are in different subnets and use different default
gateways ?
