Paul, I think your adding names in /etc/hosts resolve only address name resolution but does not add any new discovered node. Am I correct ? I discovered 231 nodes and no way to discover the 3 that the customer expected. I can ping it, either out or in NetView. I can even send snmp to them ! When I used netmon -M 63 to trace, all I got is that those three tried to ping me but it is just like netmon ignore them ! So no mention either in the object or the topo databases. Nevertheless, I noticed your mention about NT DNS. YOU have to mark a particular checkbox for reverse addressing. By default, it does not ! Still I doubt its effect to my 3 nodes...
