Tom, There is no need for the TEC server in the NetView TMR to be up and running if you intend to have the TIPN NetView/TEC Integration get data from a TEC server in a different TMR. By default, TIPN will use the TEC server in the local TMR but the TIPN User's Guide explains how to get it to use a different TEC server. It is required that the NetView TMR and the other TMR be interconnected. TIPN NetView/TEC Integration requires access to code installed with the TEC Console. That is why the console must be installed on the NetView server itself. Having to install a TEC Server in the same TMR is just an unfortunate prerequisite to that. I don't think it would even be necessary to configure that TEC Server or install an RDBMS for it, never mind start it up. Scott Donohoo Tivoli NetView L2 Support |
