Mikael,
a possible solution could be that you make a collection containing all your
ISDN interfaces and make them unmanged causing Netview to stop pinging
them. Then you write a script that does a ping (during low-cost hours) to
your ISDN interfaces and sends a trap, writes an errorlog etc. when
something is wrong.

PS: I've tried to write a C program doing a managed/unmanaged from
commandline. It doesn't work! Unless it's started from the Netview GUI
(need pointer to map) - but that's not really a commandline...

What you are looking for doesn't exist. There are no command line
utilities to
chnage an object from managed to unmanaged.

Perhaps some other user with ISDN lines will respond with how they handle
them.

Hi!

Since we are using an ISDN-line, which we do not want to be open during
non-working hours (telephone charges here is high!), we want to be able to
stop
Netview from polling those devices on the other end of the link between say
16hrs and 8hrs. Is it possible to switch the status of specific nodes in
the
database from managed to unmanaged and v.v. from the commandline or a
script ?

The manuals are almost entirely describing GUI commands, and I can't find
that
any of the provided utilities (in /usr/OV/bin) are up to the job.

Sorry if this is a FAQ, but since I can't find an answer anywhere...!
