Jason Kravitz,
Your recommendation is to use SEA 1.0.2 and disable the DMI process.
What is the best way to disable the DMI process?
What do I lose by disabling the DMI process?
Can you elaborate a little on how "1.0.2 seems to operate with NetView
better than the SNMP agent in 1.0.3"?

FYI. You mentioned that "that the SEA 1.0.3 snmpdx agent seems to just stops
answering snmpget request". We have had the same problem in one of our
sites running SEA 1.0.2 and had to recycle the snmpdx agent to correct the
problem. So the problem seems to be present in both releases.

Hmm - Ok allow me to rephrase my previous statement... the SNMP agent
portion of
1.0.2 seems to operate with NetView better than the SNMP agent in 1.0.3 - I
have
seen this DMI process problem and I recall my solution was to disable this
process from starting - so I guess I forgot that it was an issue
If you need to run DMI on this box, I guess 1.0.3 is the best option -
however,
if you only need the SNMP agent, disable DMI from starting and use 1.0.2 -
netmon seems to be a lot happier with this version of the agent - we are
investigating what the problem is with the SNMP agent in 1.0.3 - for now - I
would still recommend 1.0.2
hope that helps!
