On 11/02/2000, James posted a writeup about
changing the color of symbols on maps with
rulesets:
-----
"Override status with ruleset

In order for a ruleset to override status and change the color of an object
on the map(s), the ruleset must be running in dynamic workspace in a
control desk on the read-write map. This is general requirement #1...."
-----

I had never noticed before that a ruleset could (and would) change
the color of an object (symbol) on the map.

What happened is that an active agent on some of our servers
started sending in events at a 1 min interval, and the color
changed faster than netmon could change it back with a successful
poll. Otherwise, I probably would never have noticed it.

I don't see any ruleset
nodes that do this, so I guess the color is changed for every event
that pops out of the ruleset, right? My map symbols that
have their color changed all change to yellow, regardless of the
severity associated with the event. Is this right?

Am I right about what I am seeing?
