To all,
I know that this post borders on (is) advertising on the mailing list.
But, I think this is something that all of us (including myself) have a
great interest in.
The following information is about a new "Advanced NetView" class.
It is not posted on the Tivoli or IBM web sites (yet).
Below is the course description and contact information.
Don Davis

from 28 May 2001 at 11:00 to 08 June 2001 (10.0 DAYS - Two Weeks)

Tivoli Integrated Network Management Skills Academy
We have divided the course material of this two week course
into two one-week sessions. Although the class will be
held as a two weeks (10 days) class, topics have been
organized such that in future these courses could be held
separately as two one week classes, preferably back-to-back.

Objectives
The objectives of the class are to provide a wide perspective
on the more advanced features of Tivoli NetView. This class

NetView (Framework & Mid Level Managers) - there
is deliberately no requirement to have any
chargeable add-on programs, though some
freely-available utilities may be discussed.

- Making the NetView discovery seedfile work for you

- Using NetView with a Relational Database
- Deploying NetView Mid Level Manager (MLM)
- Integrating NetView with Tivoli Framework
- Network management in a firewalled environment)
- Hints & Tips from the Industry
Participants in the class should already have several months
day-to-day practical experience with NetView as a NetView
administrator as well as shellscripting skills. This
class introduces more advanced topics and provides
hands-on practical demonstrations of using these
features in real-world combinations.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Week 2 : Tivoli NetView Integrated Network Management Masterclass
Objectives
The objectives of the class are to provide a wide perspective
on the integration possibilities between Tivoli
NetView and other management applications.
Other products covered include:

and understand when and how to deploy them.
A large element of this class is hands-on practical experience.
Participants in the class should already have several months
day-to-day practical experience with NetView as a NetView

Framework, Distributed Monitoring, Inventory & TEC,
as well as shellscripting skills. This class provides
hands-on practical demonstrations of using these
