Well, I don't know what to tell you. I don't see how ovwdb could tell you
the node is already there and yet you cannot find it in the database. That
doesn't make sense. I was expecting that you'd find it in the database
but only on one map and not the other. You could fix that with
ovtopofix -u.

My advice at this point would be to stop the GUIs and netmon and run
ovtopofix -a (small a because you have multiple maps) and see if your
situation changes.

As has been noted in this list several times recently, current code (you
didn't say what level or platform you had) provides a utility called
nvmaputil which will perform deletes from the command line. See the
Release Notes for details.

Otherwise, call Support.

James,
I have the holding area turned on so all new routers get placed in the
holding area before I put them on the map. I added four routers last week
and this one did not show up. I did a locate and the router was not found
by name or ip address. I just ran the ovobjprint command and looked for
the ip address and name in the output and it was not found. I have one map
that is running production monitoring and I'm currently running a new map
to clean up placement of nodes.
I just tried to create the router by adding a new object and it comes
back
with the object selection name already exists and is a different type.
Any other way I can find this object and delete it?
Thanks
Frank

How do you know it's not on the map? Did you try Locate?
If Locate fails to find it, then print the database with ovobjprint,
"ovobjprint > ovobjprint.out", and examine the output. If you find the
object it should have two fields, OVW Maps Exit and OVW Maps Managed and
they should both have at least a value of 1. Do they? At the bottom of

the record will be entries for the IP Symbol List for each of your maps.
You should have at least one map, usually called "default", so you should
see at least one entry which says "default IP Symbol List" followed by
some number. Is that there? Do you have more than one map?

I have added a node to the seedfile and run netmon -y and it does
not show
up on the map. If I try to create the node manually it will say node
already exsists. How can I find this node or delete and recreate?
Thanks
