You
must also configure the netview polling to use one of these new community
names. Have you run xnmsnmpconf to use one of the new ones, if not, it
is probably still using public?

Each routers have been configured to send SNMP trapd to two AIX boxes(production+lab). Recently, we started getting the following errors in our
trapd.log :- These errors were not coming earlier. But now are coming for almost all the routers. Probably, network administrators have removed public community name from all these routers. I suppose, public community name is not mandatory? Then what could be the reason for these errors and where this could impact?
