Greetings all, Just for an update to those interested in the result of my PMR about MLM's and zero's in IP addresses IBM returned the response that it affects both UNIX and NT versions of MLM. So the fact that my ip address scheme has zero's (0) in them prevents me from using MLM's. They have added that information into their knowledge base so that future customers and techs can access it. Sicne it had only ever been documented on the MLM-NT side it was never documented about the Unix side. regards Chris Petrina
While the MLM code for Windows and Unix is unique, the administration of the two is very close. You can use APM or the MLM management GUI at the Unix server to manage both MLMs the same way. There is documentation about a few things that are different such as the functions you can use in a MIB value calculation. But generally, the administration is the same. If you deploy MLMs, I recommend that you deploy all of them on Unix or all of them on Windows so that the differences don't bite you later.
