Usman,
No error messages in any log to point to the problem? I'm surprised about
that. But . . .
My suspicion about the ovsuf is the "-w" option on the snmpcollect daemon.
That indicates that snmpcollect should write to the data warehouse, and it
also requires that a new resource file supporting that option would have to
be built into the serversetup executable. Now from what I can tell, it was
and that code was shipped in 7.1.4 FP03, so you should have it, because you
are running the standard English version. PJ30326 added it to the
double-byte language packs. But you should not need that from what you
have said.
So what to do? I'm going to have to refer you to the formal IBM Support
channel. You will need to open a problem locally and have them escalate to
Level 2 in the US. They should be able to send you a later version of
serversetup that works. I don't see any other options. There's no way
that I can see for you to solve this problem on your own, and you cannot
get a code update unless you go through channels. There are entitlement
and technology export regulations which must be observed.

James,
I am afraid i dont have that level of knowledge on Netview, i won't be
able to diagnose any problem by reading the ovsuf file, would you like me
to send you my 'ovsuf' file.
And yes i have tdwdeamon enabled. Following are the two relevant lines from
the ovsuf file: -
0:snmpcollect:\usr\ov\bin\snmpcollect.exe:OVs_YES_START:trapd,ovwdb,ovtopmd,nvcold:-o
1,-w:OVs_WELL_BEHAVED:120::
0:tdwdaemon:\usr\ov\bin\spmsur.exe:OVs_YES_START::-cd
\usr\ov\jars\tdwdaemon.jar -opt Xms64M;Xmx128M -cp
.;\usr\ov\jars\tdwdaemon.jar;\usr\ov\jars\netview.jar;\usr\ov\jars\snmpserver.jar;\usr\ov\jars\log4j.jar;\usr\ov\conf;${NV_DB2PATH}\java\db2java.zip
-cls com/tivoli/netview/tdw/TDW_Daemon -gs
com/tivoli/netview/tdw/TDWShutdown -a "--logconfig
/usr/OV/conf/tdwdaemon-log4j.properties":OVs_WELL_BEHAVED:120::
Really appriciate your help!

I admit that the conf file is a longshot, but it was all I could think of
at the time, and since the installation does modify it, it could be
corrupted somehow.
Make sure you have the verbose tracing flag on for the snmpcollect daemon,
and then check the snmpCol.trace log and the nv.log for error messages.
Are you also running the tdwdaemon? What options do you have for
snmpCollect in the ovsuf file?
