There is a recent APAR in this area (PJ26332), one that was diagnosed just
this week, which says that basically, if the first variable of the trap is
not an integer with a value of less than 1000, then the trap will not get
passed to connected applications, of which the tecad adapter is one. This
affects on NT NetView 5.1 Seems that there is an overly strict criteria
here that was added to trapd to cut down on the amount of traps it was
needlessly passing to other daemons. The problem is that it was designed
by someone who thought about only NetView traps, and that's why it filters
out too much.
You could test whether this was your problem by using a custom trap you
code yourself with snmptrap. Or you could just call Support, explain your
problem, and tell them you would like to get an efix when one is available.

I am using tecad_nv6k between NV 5.1 on NT to send traps to a NT based
tec/3.6 on another server
I added enterprises to the tecad_nv6k.oid file, but the traps still dont
get thri.
also the tec adaptor proces gets all teh CPU. Does anyone know of a
patch or a fix for this?
i am using the tme version of tecad_nv6k. is the non_tme version any
better?
