I've cleaned that before. Do this:

xnmsnmpconf -exp ovsnmpd.conf (in some temp place, not in OV)
cp ovsnmpd.conf ovsnmpd.conf.bak

Now use your favorite editor to edit the ovsnmpd.conf file and remove the
offending
records. I also make a point of removing fields that are set with the same
values
as the default. Now import it:

xnmsnmpconf -imp ovsnmpd.conf

If some of the names in the file no longer resolve, you will get errors and
will have
to delete those records or fix them. Once it is imported, I always go into
the gui
and verify it, and re-save to to kick netmon to re-evaluate it. If anything
goes
wrong, re-import that backup you made.

Support folks have heart attacks when I recommend stuff like this, but this
has
worked well for me many times, and I always keep a backup handy.

Cordially,

Subject: [NV-L] SNMP configuration and Specific Nodes added more ...

Hello again,
first of all I wanted to know if someone else have the same problem with
nodes added under Specific Nodes in the SNMP configuration and
second : It was I who opened and in the end got the lab to accept this as
the failure of NetView and then this APAR was opened so why should I have
to
report the same problem twice ? It's just time consuming and the reason
I want it solved it that I don't want to manually delete all the entries in
the
Specific
Nodes ...
So once again : have ANYONE else observed this defect or ...???
