Chris,

Yes you can have SNMP collection information going into a relational database and leave topology in flat files. It was designed to work exactly that way. In the NetView for Unix Database Guide you will find that the processes are separated. Good luck. Again, you can also take snapshots of your SNMP collection data, or you can have all the data stored in the database from the start.
