Thread-topic: [nv-l] I want an easy move of NetView from AIX to Solaris
Jane,

Yes those are the steps I used to get the new location.conf and they
work just like you describe.

It took me awhile to figure them out on my own, but the key seemed to
be finding the v1.1 copy of the perl script. After I downloaded the v1.1,
everything worked. I haven't used it yet to "filter/talor" a new discovery.
Maybe this afternoon. Thanks again for your help, Tom G.

p.s. Thanks anonymous. I like some of your poetry too.

Hi Tom,
Not my script!! A different public-spirited citizen who prefers to
remain anonymous. However, I did test it. You need to redirect the
output of the script to a file, so the method would be:

ovmapdump -v > /tmp/ovmapdump.out (this dumps the default map)
build_location.pl /tmp/ovmapdump.out > /tmp/location.conf
Check /tmp/location.conf
cd /usr/OV/conf
cp location.conf location.bak (for safety)
cp /tmp/location.conf location.conf

Cheers,
Jane
