Still struggling with this - I think I have a bug situation - can anyone
confirm?
I have AIX 4.2.1, Framework 3.2 (no SuperPatch), TEC 3.1 (no patches applied),
NetView
4.1.2.0, PTF U453385. If I configure the nvserverd TEC adapter, simply
supplying the DNS
name of my TEC Server and the rulebase of either forwardall.rs or a specific
ruleset, the
response from smit is that everything is OK. I never get any events into TEC
from nvserverd
- I have used iptrace and although I can see logfile events going from the NV
machine to TEC,
it looks like none are ever generated from nvserverd. The other little "bonus"
is that I get
no events at all in nvevents! There seem to have been a number of problems in
the past with
nvserverd core'ing..... I can get nvevents restarted by deconfiguring my
nvserverd TEC
adapter, and doing ovstop and ovstart on nvserverd - then they all flood in -
they're setting
there in trapd.log and can be seen as expected when they arrive.

I have no core dumps, nothing in nv6000.log and nothing in ESE.automation. The
old
teacd_nv6k adapter works fine but I'd rather use the new one to position us for
moving to NV
V5.

Oh yes - my TEC is NT.
Doug, do you have an NT TEC??
Many thanks for any further pointers,
Jane
