Daniel, surely there was a backup taken of the system after I installed it last
fall.
A mksysb on a tape? On that tape there will be a good tar of the database. It
may
not be precisely current, but it will sync up without a big cut & paste job.

You do have a seedfile in /usr/local/seedfile that is a complete list of nodes
(or
it was complete last fall.) If you do the rediscover (Control..Restart
Automatic Map
Generation on the Tivoli context menu, or on smit - that function will work as
well)
with that seefile, rediscovery will take only a few minutes, then you have to do
the
cut/paste again. Then you will need to clear the ATM and Hubs topologies, and
clear the MAT database so they can be repopulated from the netview database.

Cordially,

Well, I call this in to support and they came back and
said that it appears to be a corrupt db and that my only
options are to restore from backup or rediscover.

So far, the backup option is not looking good (figures).

I'm not sure what file(s) I am to restore, but it appears
that we may have backed up bad data before a couple of
times before we noticed the problem.

How big of a deal is a rediscovery?

James, I didn't try the deleting the lines in the trapd.conf
file up to the previous EDESC. Could this still help us
out?

I looked in the the /usr/OV/sockets directory. By removing
the files in here as Ken suggessted, what does this do?

Thanks for everyone's help,

Daniel
