Ioannis,

first get the ifIndex of the IP Address
in question from the ipAddrTable:
snmpwalk <router> ip.ipAddrTable.ipAddrEntry.ipAdEntIfIndex
Then look for the ifOperStatus for the
concerning ifIndex:
snmpwalk <router> interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifOperStatus

I assume it's down (config problem?)
or the ifIndex is missing completely (Firmware bug).

Yes, the SNMP status polling
is used. What resources should I look for? The lines (interfaces) are Frame
Relay to the branch (ATM in the backbone).

Are you using SNMP status polling
for these routers ?
I have seen this when resources
are low on the NetView server, which may cause SNMP status polling to time
out.

I am facing the following problem: We have
about 200 branches (ARN Nortel routers) and for some branches about 10,
the routers are shown as yellow. When I check the interfaces I see that
the WAN interface is red. When I test the interface (ping) the interface
responds and becomes green. After some seconds it goes back to read state.
Any ideas why this is happening will be greatly appreciated.
