Let me clarify just a bit :-)  
... only a recycle of the virtual frame buffer was required.  I personally
have never seen it refuse a client.  We tested it with "xclock
-display :2" to take netviewd out of the picture.  xclock will
report back to the command line that it cannot open a display.

It appears that X vfb was possibly corrupted, a recycle cleared the problem.

How many objects are on your map, could this be the map
synching(I dont think so, but it is a possibility). Remember
that netviewd is simply ovw in wolfs clothing. In other words
it is the exact same process as ovw, save for the name. When
netviewd is not started, how long do it take for your map to
finish synching when you just start it on the console?
